ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation is reaching out and giving more opportunities for our countrymen to gain financial freedom, live decent lives and enjoy better education, health, and housing. A big step to this realization started recently with a partnership with the City Government of Puerto Princesa, Palawan which was represented by Hon. Mayor Edward Hagedorn.
“We recognize the importance of partnerships with other like-minded organizations, including the LGUs, the Academe, the civil society, and socially oriented corporations all over the Philippines, for a sustained implementation of capability-building endeavors with the entrepreneurial poor, micro-entrepreneurs, SMEs, industries, and enterprising communities in general,”

On his part, Mayor Hagedorn welcomed the timely partnership since it will “implement, extend, and sustain relevant programs and projects for the general welfare and well-being of the people Puerto Princesa and eventually, the entire province, as well.”
The partnership will likewise undertake social and economic programs and projects for the sustainable development of the city. In fact, a starting fund of P5 million from the city will be used by ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation to promote social and economic endeavors geared towards the enhancement of employment, self-employment, income-generating opportunities, and food sufficiency.
“We want to provide access to opportunities, including capital, entrepreneurial and technical skills, technology, quality product development and production systems, and market, such as that the entrepreneurial poor and microentrepreneurs, will have a chance to grow, create wealth, generate jobs, and contribute to the local economy,” said Dr. Morato.
Add to that, ABS-CBN Bayan Foundation will help establish institutional linkages with other like-minded individuals and organizations in Puerto Princesa and supervise projects for the benefit of the enterprising families and communities as well as relevant industries and sectors.
